An A C T for ieting and Settling the Di/orders
that have lately happened within this Province ; and for Efa-
bilhing and Securing Their Majefies pre/ent Government againfi
the like Dy/orders for the Future.
Pafsd the 6th of May, 1691.
ORASMUCH as the Good and Quiet, Eafe, Profit, Benefit,
and Advantage of the Inhabitants within this Province, doth Preamble.
F chiefly confift in, ahd altogether rely and depend upon, their
bearing true Faith and Allegiance unto Their Majefties Crown
of ENGLAND, which is, and can only be, the Support and
Defence of this Province: AND whereas the late hafty and
inconfiderate Violation of the fame, by the Setting up a Power over Their
Majeffies .Subjeas, without Authority from the Crown of England. hath
vitiated and debauched the Minds of many People, &c. and hath alfo
brought great Wafte, Trouble and Deftrudion upon the good People of
this Province, Their Maj eties loyal Subj eas : For the Prevention whereof,
in the Time to come,
