Docket 26230 for exemption pursuant to section 401(b) of the Federal Aviation Act of 1958, as amended. ORDER GRANTING EXEMPTION By application filed December 14, 1973, United Air Lines, Inc., requests an exemption, limited to the duration of the fuel crisis, from conditions 5 1/ and 6 2/ of its certificate of public convenience and necessity for route 1 in order to permit United to: 1. terminate flight 238 3/ at Detroit instead of at New York (Newark) or Philadelphia as condition 5 requires; .2. originate flight 249 4/ at Pittsburgh instead of New York (Newark) or Philadelphia as condition 5 requires; 1/ Condition 5 reads in pertinent part as follows: (5) The holder shall serve Detroit, Mich., only on flights originating at Denver, Colo., or a point west thereof, and terminating at New York, N.Y., or Philadelphia, Pa., or originating at New York or Philadelphia and terminating at Denver or a point west thereof: . . 2/ Condition 6 reads as follows: (6) The holder shall render scheduled nonstop service between Chicago, Ill., and Washington, D.C., between Chicago and Baltimore, Md., and between Chicago and Boston, Mass., only on flights originating or terminating at Omaha, Nebr., or a point west thereof. 3/ Flight 238 currently originates at Las Vegas and terminates at Newark via the intermediates Denver and Detroit. 4/ Flight 249 currently originates at Newark and terminates at Las Vegas via the intermediates Detroit and Denver.
