for approval of certain control and interlocking
relationships under sections 408 and 409 of the
Federal Aviation Act of 1958, as amended.



                           ORDER GRANTING EXEMPTION

     By Order 71-12-119, adopted December 27, 1971, the Board  denied the
application of Air-Land Transport, Inc. (Air-Land) for domestic  air
freight forwarding authority, and dismissed the application  for approval
of the common control by Henry Jansen of Air-Land and Lynden  Transport,
Inc. (Lynden), a long-haul motor carrier operating between Seattle  and
Alaska.  These actions, taken without prejudice to the future  submission
of a more appropriate proposal, were based on applicants' inability  to
make a prima facie showing that they would conscientiously promote air
