Application of

     SOUTHWEST AIRLINES CO.           :Docket 37578

for unused authority under Section
401(d)(5)(D) of the Federal Aviation
Act of 1958, as amended



                                  ORDER

     On February 1, 1980, Southwest Airlines Co. filed an application
under section 401(d)(5)(D) of the Act for unused Dallas(Love Field)-
Oklahoma City (DAL/DFW-OKC) authority. The authority of American
Airlines is unused within the meaning of section 401(d)(5)(D) and the
carrier has not filed a notice of intent to conence service under
section 401(d)(5)(G)(i). Southwest's application is the first we have
received seeking the authority requested.

     On February 20, 1980, the Dallas-Forth Worth parties 1/ filed an
answer to Southwest's application requesting that any certificate issued
to Southwest for unused Dallas(Love Field )-Oklahoma City authority
include the conditions required by the recently enacted Love Field
Amendment contained in the International Air Transportation Competition
Act of 1979. 2/ On February 26, 1980, Southwest filed a reply agreeing

     Answers to applications under section 401(d)(5)(D) are due within
14 days of the filing of such applications. We will grant the notion
of the Dallas-Fort Worth parties for leave to file a late-filed
document.
