Bellafis, having beepformerly Impeached in the Houfe of
Lords, of High Treafn, and other High Crimes and.Offeutes, by the
Houfe ofJ Commons, in the Name of themfelves, and -of'all the Comrmons of
England;
And the Houfe of Commons having fent a Meffage to the Lords, to Ac-
quaint them with the Refolution of that Houfe, to prgceed to the Trial of
thofe Lords then in the Tower, and forthwith to begin with the faid Vif-
count Stafford, and to defire their Lordflips to Appoint a Convenient day
for the Trial of the faid Vifcount Staffo rd; their Lordfliips did thereupori
Appoint the 3o'- day, of Novemlr, i68o. fir his Trial; And a place iri
Welminfler-I-all, hav'iig been'(for that 'purpofe ) Ere6ted, the fame was
as followeth, viz. Therein were boih Seats and Wool-packs, correfpon-
dentin all points to thofe in the HoUfe of Lords ; as alfo a ,State placed at
the upper end thereof, with a Cabinet for the King ( and whom'His Maje-
fly fllould think fit to Attend him there) on the right hand the State'and
the like on the Left hand, for the Queen and her Followers. As alfo Gal-
leries over head, for Ambaffadors and others.
And to the End that the Commons ,might be fitted with Seats upon this
great occafion, there were Ereded for them, or! each fide divers Benches,
on feveral degrees, extending to the uttmoff Walls of the Hall.
At the Lower end, the Bar, ( whereunto the Prifoners were to be
brought) being placed; onthe Right hand thereof was a place raifed about
fiveFoot, wherein the Witnefes were- to fland; And on the Left haid a Coi-
venient Room for thofe particular Members of the Houfe of Commons,
which were to Manage the Evidence.
And the Right Honorable Heneage Lord Finch, Baron of Daventry, Lord
High Chancellor of England, being by His Majetfies Special Letters Patent,
bearing Date the 3oth. of November, i68o'. Conflituted Lord, ligh Stei g
ard for that prefent occafion ; upon Taefday the faid 3oth. of Novenler,the
Lord High Steward was Honorably Attended from his Houfe ill 9.een4
