TO ALL STATE TAIPAYER EXECUTIVES:
In accordance with suggestions which we have received from some of
you, we are changing our method of reporting action on the regular annual
appropriation bills as they come along this year.
Attached is some material which covers important items of interest
on the Treasury-Post Office Appropriation Bill for fiscal 1953--the first
of the regular money bills to pass the House this year. This includes
(1) some briefs't highlighting major points of information, (2) a one-page
tabulation on the bill as reported by the House Appropriations Committee, and
(3) a breakdown by states, of the only roll-call vote in the House on this
bill (on a proposed reduction which was approved 191-122).
It is our hope that this type of reporting on the appropriation bills
will prove more useful to you than what has been sent out in the past.
This has already been discussed with Steve Stahl, and we shall appreciate
any comments or suggestions which you may have.
