CHAP. XXXVIII.
-An A& to fet off certain lands belonging to the town of
Taunton, and to annex them to the town of Berkley.
SECT. ,. BE it enaaed by the Senate and Houfe of
Reprefentatives in General Court fembled, and by the au.
thority of the fame. 'hat all the lands belonging to Sim-
eon Burt, Abner 3urt, Edmund Burt, and the heirs of
Stephen Burt, dec,,' aied, which belong to the town of Taun- Lands annexid
ton,but lie within the bounds of the town of Berkley, with
allthe buildings flanding on the fame, be,and they arehere-
by fet off from thetown of Taunton, and fhall be annex-
ed to, and made a part of the town of Berkly : Provided
however, That the faid Simeon Burt, Abner Burt, Ed-
mund Burt, and the heirs of Stephen Burt, fhall be holden
to pay their refpe&ive proportions of all flate, county,
town, and parifli taxes affeffed upon them, and due to the
faid town of Taunton, prior to the date of this aft.
Sic. 2. Be it further enased, That there fhall be taken
from the town of Taunton, and be added to the town of
Berkly,,three cents in the flate valuation, which fliall be
the rule for afl~fling the fmid towns for flate and county
taxes, until there fliall be a new valuation taken.
