handle is hein.ssl/ssky0040 and id is 1 raw text is: FOREWORD TO PAPERBOUND VOLUMES For the 1998 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly, the Legislative Research Commission is again issuing its official edition of the session laws in both hardbound and paperbound versions Pagination within the two versions is identical The three volumes of the hardbound edition have each been divided into three parts for the paperbound version In each paperbound volume, the table of chapter and page assignments of bills and resolutions has been printed as prelimirary matter following this foreword The complete table of contents is given at the beginning of Volume I, Part A, of the paperbound version, volume tables of contents for Volumes 11 and Ill of the hardbound version are found at the front of Volume II, Part A, and Volume Ill, Part A, of the paperbound version No separate tables of contents have been prepared for the paperbound volumes The various lists, tables, and indexes for the Acm that are included at the end of each of the three volumes of the hardbound version have only been given at the end of Volume Ill, Part C, of the paperbound version In its legislative session this year, the General Assembly enacted 615 acts, encompassing 3888 pages of text - the greatest number of acts and pages in the Commonwealth's history In 1996, by comparison, 383 acts were enacted, resulting in 2892 pages of text This substantial growth in the amount of material enacted has required the hardbound version of the session laws to be expanded into three volumes for the first time It has also increased the complexity of and lengthened the time required for the codification of this session's enactments Production of the hardbound version of this material will also take longer By providing the Kentlucky Acm in both paperbound and hardbound versions, this material will be made available sooner for those who need it and yet will still be provided in a more permanent form for those retaining the session laws for reference purposes DON CETRULO Director The Capitol Frankfort, Kentucky October 1998 IIB i
