The Governor's vetoes were overridden by the General Assembly at the 1997 Regular Session. Article 5, Section 14 of the Indiana Constitution requires bills that become law under such circumstances to be treated as laws of the session in which they originated. Because Public Law 255, Public Law 256, and Public Law 257 of 1996 could not be published with the other 1996 session laws, they have been included at the beginning of this volume.
