R. V. Bottomly served as Attorney General during the two-year period
covered by this volume. Serving the full period were Fred Lay as First As-
sistant, Clarence Hanley as Assistant, Baxter Larson as Assistant, and Robert
L. Word, Jr., as Special Assistant. Alfred F. Dougherty served as Assistant
until his resignation July 31, 1948. Patrick J. Gilfeather was appointed Special
Assistant August 2, 1947. Arthur Meyer served as Law Clerk until May 31,
1947. Curtis C. Cook was appointed Law Clerk September 1, 1947 and served
to July 31, 1948, and advanced to Assistant August 1, 1948 and served until
his resignation August 31, 1948. Donald Sullivan was appointed Law Clerk
August 1, 1948. Mrs. Betty Anderegg served as stenographer until her resig-
nation April 1, 1947. Virginia Taylor was appointed Stenographer April 8,
1947 and resigned September 1, 1948. Helen McDermott served as Stenog-
rapher from her appointment October 1, 1948.
