REPORT ON THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION
The Department of the Attorney General is comprised of almost two-dozen divisions. To
document the Department's Goals and Objectives, the Attorney General tasked each
division with formulating a strategic plan, and then personally met with each division to
review and assess those plans.
SECTION 2: DEPARTMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Department of the Attorney General
The mission of the Department of the Attorney General is to provide excellent legal
services to the State of Hawaii by offering advice and counsel to its client agencies,
assisting in implementing policy decisions, aiding the implementation of the core
activities of its client agencies and attached agencies, and defending its clients against
lawsuits.
