Post Office Box 880 Eufaula, Alabama 36072-0880 Municipalities Public Purpose - Parks and Recreation - Maintenance - Police Jurisdiction - Taxes - Barbour County The City of Eufaula may enter into an agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to provide trash removal, janitorial services, mowing, landscaping, nominal maintenance, and surveillance for a park and campground that is owned by the Corps and is located in the city's police jurisdiction. The agreement would not obligate the city to provide such services throughout the police jurisdiction. Dear Mrs. Potthoff: This opinion of the Attorney General is issued in response to your request on behalf of the Eufaula City Council. QUESTIONS Can the City of Eufaula enter into an agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide trash removal, janitorial services, mowing, landscaping, nominal maintenance, and surveillance for White Oak Day Use Park and White Oak Campground in the city's police jurisdiction? If so, will the city be obligated to provide the same services to other residents or businesses located in the police jurisdiction?
