The regular winter meeting of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia was hold at the Court House on Tuedday, February 16, 1932. The minutes of the last meeting were read and ordered filed as read without correction or addition. In the absence of the Treasurer, the Treasurer's report was read by the ARecording Secretary. On motion the report was approved and ordered filed. The President then called for reports of Committees as follows: Report of the Grievance committee. Mrs. Nettie Jones, chairman. No report. Report of the Corresponding Secretary. Miss Elizabeth Reed reported that all tices had been sent out as requested, and all other correspondence attended to. Report of the Legislative committee. In the absence of chairman, given by Miss ive Lacy. Miss Lacy Apoke on Senate Bill No. 3223, An Act to prevent the notice of law in the District of Columbia by any individual or corporation unless at individual, or those making up the corporation, was a member of the District or. After explaining the bill Miss Lacy moved that the Association endorse the i11. Seconded. Discussion was lead by Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Greathouse, Mrs. Mathews,and ss Harris. In order to clarify some points the President asked that the Recording eoretary read the entire bill. After some further discussion, the motion was assed as made. Miss Harris then moved that a copy of the audmx resolution e sent to Senator King and one to Mr. Bride, the Corporation Council. Seconded carried. The President then temporarily suspended the other reports, so that nominations the Nominating Committee could be made. The following members were nominated: Mrs. Bernita S. Matthews by Abha Boyle Miss Catherine McCloskey by Cora Keeley Miss Harris by Dean Riley -- withdrawn. Miss Catherine Raeney by Beatrice Clephane Miss Betty Tech by Mary Connelly Miss Pearl Cooper by Dean Riley -- withdrawn. Miss Nell Ready by Betty Tech Miss Annabel Mathews by . Reed moved that nominations be closed. Seconded and carried. The President ointed Miss Pearl Cooper, Dr. Emma Wold, and Miss Sue Gant as tellers. Invitation has been nded by Mr. Barnard, 23*atm Superintendent of Federal Prisons to visit prison at Lawton, Va. and have lunch. Chairman reported that she could in transportation by bus for &round a dollar a piece. It was decided, however, o in privately owned automobiles.
