The following persons were in attendance: Mary Anglin, Janet Blizard, Cher Calloway, Susan Colman, Joan Countryman, Gall Cummings, Loretta Garcia, Kathy Gunning, Vicki Hicks, Judith Leader, Martha McQuade, Jennifer Porter, Paula Potoczak, Mary Revell, Martha Saenz-Schroeder, Diana Savit, Gwen Simmons, Renee Shields, Constance Tuck, and Linda Wellstein. Minutes of the Previous Meeting The minutes of the meeting of June 3, 1986, were approved subject to revision of the reference to the Senior Attorneys Forum on page 2, and to a revision to Indicate that Loretta Garcia is co-chair of the Membership Committee. President's Report The President noted that copies of the Association Budget, the 1986-1987 Board Liaison list, the 1986 Membership Survey and the September Showcase Committee announcement were being distributed to the meeting participants. She then announced that the Association's Executive Director, Jeannette Stewart, has resigned. WBA member, Renee Shields, has agreed to staff the office on an Interim basis. The Board anticipates that a new Association Administrator will be hired before October 10. The 1986-87 Budget The President invited the meeting participants to raise any questions that they might have about the budget that was approved by the Board of Directors in July. In response to questions, she noted that the budget deficit exists because the Association has not had a dues increase in five years. During this time, the Association's administrative costs have doubled. In addition, the Association has grown rapidly and committees have proliferated. The increased administrative load made it necessary for the WBA to establish its own office for the first time. The President noted that the Association has an investment account that will cover the Increased costs for this year, but that it is likely that there will be a dues increase in the future. As an interim measure, the Board has decided to ask each committee and forum that holds a program to impose a $2.00 per person administrative charge to defray some of the administrative costs. In response to questions, she indicated that the Board had considered and rejected other options, including a special assessment on the membership and the merging of the Association's publications, because these options were
