Dear Mary:

As you know, when we spoke on the phone today, I authorized
payment of DHD's bill for $1,640.98. That amount includes:

     - Regular system usage during the month of Feb-
        ruary

     - Special system usage for directory production

     - Cost of $5 per page for generating the photo-
typeset directory on special photographic paper

Ann Rasenberger had told me that only 110 pages were pro-
duced, not 140, and that Bill Ritchie of DHD had agreed to redo
the code table pages without charge. I spoke with Bill today
and he said that he did not charge us for computer processing
or for his time in re-running the index pages of the directory.
However, he did charge us for the photographic paper. He emph-
asized that neither WBA nor DHD was entirely blameless in the
need to rerun that portion of the directory, and I agreed that
that is usually the case where a computer-related misunderstand-
ing is involved. I do think DHD has been cooperative and that
the billing in this instance is fair.

February was a heavy usuage month, as you and others at the
WBA office entered the backlog of name/address changes and new
members that had accumulated since last August or September.
As you can see from the invoice, our storage costs of $402.59
were substantial. In fact, storage alone ran over the estimated
monthly charge of $350. I do expect monthly charges to be much
lower in the next months after this period of high activity on
the system is over. I understand that you will be taking our
data off the more expensive storage (disk)and keeping it on tape
except for once a week or so (after several transactions have
accumulated and an update is warranted).
