This year Ukraine celebrates two milestone dates - the 25th anniversary of state sovereignty and the 20th anniversary of the Constitution. It is symbolic that in this very year Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, resuming its own old legal traditions, jointly with the Centre for Constitutional Initiatives and the editorial board of the journal, founds the forty-fifth regular scientific edition - the Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law. Ukraine is a young state, on its way towards constitutional development it will have to take many important steps, conduct a range of reforms. They require an ongoing dialogue with theoreticians of constitutional law and practitioners dealing with state development, experience exchange between Ukrainian and foreign scientists, bringing up of a young generation of lawyers - patriots dedicated to the idea of national state development. We sincerely hope that the Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law will become a permanent platform for communication between the best specialists in the field of constitutional law and political sciences, a bridge between Ukrainian and foreign legal sciences, a table book for young lawyers and active members of the civil society.
