In addition the Dutch domestic legal framework will be briefly addressed. The paper also pays attention to measures that aim at confiscating criminal proceeds. Conclusively some remarks are made with regard to what to expect from the evasive legal apparatus. M4ARTEN VAN DijCK 6 EUROPEAN LAW EU ENLARGEMENT WITH REVERSED PRIORITIES: LAW, ECONOMICS AND BASIC VALUES IN THE PROCESS OF TURKISH ACCESSION TO THE EUROPEAN UNION Contrary to the view that Turkey is economically nor politically up to future membership of the European Union, the author argues in this article that the values underlying the very idea of European unity support a positive attitude vis-a-vis Turkish accession, notwithstanding the implied full reversal of the legal (or constitutional) and the economic points of view, compared with the 1957 starting point.
