                  ACTION TAKEN AT ANNUAL MEETING


    On August  15, 1979 the House of Delegates  of the American
Bar Association,  upon recommendation of the  Section of Legal
Education and Admissions  to the Bar, gave provisional  approval
to the University  of Bridgeport School of Law.   The school is
located at 600 University  Avenue, Bridgeport,  Connecticut 06602.

    At its August  11, 1979 meeting, the Council  of the Section
of Legal Education  and Admissions to the Bar  approved the
transfer of Lewis  University College of Law,  Glen Ellyn,
Illinois, to Northern  Illinois University.

    Upon recommendation  of the Section, the House  of Delegates
adopted the  following amendments to the Standards  for the
Approval of Law  Schools:

Standard 105        An approved law school  sheold shall seek to
                    exceed the minimum requirements  of the
                    Standards.

Standard 303(a)     The educational program  of the law school
                    sheud  shall provide adequate  opportunity
                    for:

                         (i)  study in seminars  or by directed
                              research,
                         (ii) small classes  for at least some
                              portion of  the total instructional
                              program.

Standard 308        The law school may admit  with advanced
                    standing and allow credit  for studies at a
                    law school outside  the United States if....

                    Advanced standing  and credit allowed for
                    foreign study shall  not exceed one-third of
