The solicitor is loath to destroy such correspondence for three reasons. Firstly, if he had time to look through it, he might find a document of some legal value. Secondly, if he is a good business man, he knows that he may be destroying something of historical or literary value. Thirdly (and he may not know this fact), over half the old postage stamps that have been found during this century and for which substantial sums have been paid by collectors, have been found in the dusty archives of the solicitor's office. There is only one course of action that is open to him and which will solve his problem and there is only one firm that can give him the appropriate service.
