The movement is fueled by the availability of datasets, by technical and statistical progress in processing this data, and by the emergence and increasing institutionalization of an empiri- cal legal community. The movement generates an ever increasing stream of high quality papers. This special issue signals that the Review of Law and Economics sees itself as an outlet for this literature.
