Given the growing difficulties of obtaining valid economic information, any additional source is important. The special value of these subjective data is based on the fact that they are obtained from firsthand participants in socioeconomic relations at a microlevel. 15 People's generalized opinion about the living standard of their families and the economic situation in the country makes it possible to verify the quantitative parameters of economic statistics. For example, if, as the country's leadership recently determined, the population does not see economic growth, there must be an explanation for this-either there is 20 no growth or it is insufficient to alter the present vector of assessments. In addition, people's notions about the material conditions of their own lives and subjective assessments of the state of the national economy as a whole are important factors in the development of public attitudes. In recent years, against a background of patriotic mobilization of public 25 opinion in connection with the annexation of Crimea, it became popular to discuss the television-refrigerator dilemma.1 Pitting against one another personal everyday experience and information flows that are also a daily background to the existence of every member of society is hardly constructive.
