Gau, University of Central Florida Call for Papers Special Issue on Race and juvenile justice Submission Deadline: March I, 201 5 Race and Justice: An International Journal is a quarterly forum for quality scholarship on race, ethnicity, and justice. Of particular interest to the journal are policy-oriented papers that examine how race and ethnicity intersect with justice- system outcomes across the globe, and research that tests or expands theoretical per- spectives exploring the intersection of race and ethnicity, class, gender, and justice. The journal is open to scholarship from all disciplinary origins and methodological approaches (qualitative and/or quantitative). The Race and Justice editors, associate editors, and editorial board strive to provide fair, useful reviews, prompt decisions, and timely publication. The editors are soliciting manuscripts for a special issue on race and juvenile justice, which is slated to be published in the October 2015 issue. Manuscripts considered for this special issue can focus on various topics including, but not limited to, disproportionate minority contact in the juvenile justice system, the racial threat hypothesis in relation to the juvenile system, the impact of com- munity disadvantage on juvenile court outcomes, race/ethnicity and sentencing decision in juvenile court, meta-analyses on a relevant topic, etc. The focus of the manuscripts can be race, ethnicity, social class, or other factors that are relevant to historically underrepresented groups. Manuscripts are expected to be empiri- cal (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods). Conceptual pieces will gener- ally not be considered for publication. Manuscripts should not exceed 40 pages (including cover page, abstract, notes, references, tables, and figures). Authors should submit their manuscripts through the ScholarOne submission system at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/raj. All manu- scripts must be formatted in APA 6th edition.
