As in other first issues of each year, this one contains an index covering the previous year. A 15-year index of PSJ is being prepared by Stuart Nagel and will be available soon. There are changes to announce, some minor and some major. You will notice that this issue is dated Autumn rather than September, indicating a shift from month designations (September, December, March, June) to seasonal ones (Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer) beginning with this volume. This is a return to a system used in earlier volumes and abandoned when the old PSJ was coming out with seven and eight issues a year. From the production and distribution perspective, it is a change intended to relieve some of the pressures of meeting deadlines. Major changes are taking place in the literature reviews section. The joint efforts of the PSJ and PSR have ended and each publication will now have its own literature reviews editors. There are also changes in the literature reviews co-editorship as indicated in the introduction to that section. We would like to add our thanks to Ron Francisco for the work he did while serving as co-editor. Finally, a note on one of our editorial assistants, Jerry Mitchell. Jerry is leaving KU and his job with the PSJ office in Lawrence, Kansas. Jerry and Rosie O'Leary at Syracuse helped institute a number of organizational changes that have made the PSJ peer review and manuscript preparation process work as smoothly as can be expected given the co-editorship arrangement. They have been effective at pushing Dubnick and Rosenbloom to stay atop the duties of being editors. That hasn't been easy, since one editor has been preoccupied with local university business and the other has been out of the country for half a year. Rosie will remain at Syracuse and help out on the Journal while completing her dissertation. Jerry has completed his dissertation and has accepted a position with Baruch College at the City University of New York. He is joining Bob Lineberry as literature reviews co-editor.
