We hope this is a new plateau and not just a single peak. Articles of General Interest by Yehezkel Dror and Susan Hansen explore new directions in policy studies and trace the development of policy studies over time. The symposium, Distributional Impacts of Public Policies, edited by Sheldon Danziger of the Institute for Research and Poverty at the University of Wisconsin and Kent Portney of the Lincoln Filene Center at Tufts University, confronts the most common and durable source of faction in society, inequality. It asks what impact public policies - spending, taxing, and regulation - have on the distribution of wealth and income in society. The Literature Review Essays by Charles Davis, J. A. Chandler, and Peter Shearman continue the high quality tradition established for the Policy Studies Journal and the Policy Studies Review by the Literature Review Editor Mel Dubnick of the University of Kansas.
