handle is hein.journals/marylf11 and id is 1 raw text is: EDITOR'S NOTE On behalf of the Editorial Board and staff of the Maryland Law Forum, I am pleased to present the Spring, 1988 issue. We explore a variety of issues confronting legislators, politicians and the judiciary in Maryland. The lead article, by Congressman Benjamin Cardin and Robert Rhudy, is based on an action plan to provide legal services to the underprivileged in Maryland. The plan outlines the available tools and the necessary steps to ensure equal representation for all Maryland citizens. Jeffrey Ayres and Kathleen Gavin examine Maryland's outdated anti-labor injunction statute and propose an alternative to the restrictive terms of the current Yellow Dog Act. We have also included a discussion of appropriate aftercare for the mentally handicapped and an assessment of Maryland's ambiguous Death Penalty sentencing statute. This issue also features a timely analysis of Maryland's Lemon Laws in which the author suggests the need for refinement. Finally, the Perspective segment addresses the ongoing dispute over the role and application of the exclusionary rule, including a proposal for balancing the interests of society and the rights of the criminal defendant. The Forum continues to present contemporary issues of legal significance in the traditional scholarly manner.
