Perhaps it is the realization that LRSQ is no longer a fledgling operation that surprises me. Yet though we are no longer a new publication I hope that at heart LRSQ still reflects our original purposes. We started LRSQ in an alcmpt to create a vehicle for the information that working reference librarians needed to have in their hands. By concentrating on what was interesting and, on occasion, amusing. we seem to have reached an audience that finds us useful. Those of you who are lovers of style manuals and consistent citation form know that the format of LRSQ represents my own fairly rumpled view of life. I only ask my authors to provide citation that can he followed and language that can he read and understood. I hope that as we embark on volume 6 I don't deviate from that pattern and that we can keep the air of adventure and experimenta- tion about the whole enterprise. At least I can promise you we won't be too organized. One innovation to be introduced with volume 6 is a change in the style of these editorials. Up until now I have used the editorials as a means ot introducing each article in the issue. From here on out I shall let the articles speak for themscives and use the editorial as a forum. This means I will have the opportunity to sound off a bit. Realizing the danger in the delay between when my pen is on the paper and when you read this, I still will try to raise some questions for thought.
