After suffer- ing through the first year of coordination problems at both the production and editorial ends, we hope that we at least will be producing issues on a regular basis. We also are delighted with the prospects of the articles upcoming through volume 2. This issue provides an excellent group of articles, which range across the field of research, Once again Professor Nancy Johnson of the University of Illinois has contributed a piece in her continuing series on documents in legal reference. This issue's offering on Presidential legislation should help clear up an area of legal refer- ence materials that has presented continual difficulties for reference librarians. Margaret Goldblatt, Assistant Law Librarian at the Washington University Law Library in St. Louis, offers a survey of advance state session law services and related material. This study describes how to gain access to the newest form of state legislation and includes a useful list of sources and publishers' addresses. It will serve as a good first place to check in legislative research at the state level. Professor Gail Levin Richmond of Nova University Law School has contributed an article on research materials in Federal Taxation. This is the latest in our series of articles on special subjectareas of the law done by practitioners who work in the area. Professor Rich- mond offers a wide-ranging look at the looseleaf services and mono- graphs available to guide one through the thicket of federal income tax law. She has included a bibliography of sources and a useful list of publishers' addresses as well. It should be a good beginner's guide to the literature of this most difficult area. Jeanne Benioff, State Documents Librarian of the University of Washington Law Library offers a detailed comparison of the United States Code Annotated and the United States Code Service.
