Mr. Justice McKenna said: GENTLEMEN OF THE BAR: Since the last adjournment of the court, the President has appointed William Howard Taft Chief Justice of the United States. His commission has been received, and the clerk will read it. The clerk then read the commission, and immediately thereafter the oath of office was administered by Mr. Justice McKenna, and Mr. Chief Justice Taft took the seat of the Chief Justice. 69667-21-1
