*Mr. Beaman is a J.D. candidate at Texas A&M University School of Law, where he
serves on the Journal ofProperty Law. He holds an M.B.A. from Liberty University and
previously served as Chairman of the Board for the Royse City Chamber of Commerce
and as a City Councilmember in Heath, Texas. His professional experience includes a
background in private equity and various legal internships. Mr. Beaman's article, Why
Securities Law, Rather Than Real Property Law, Should Govern Real Estate-Backed
Cryptos, examines the emerging intersection of blockchain and property law. It argues
that applying securities law to real estate-backed cryptocurrencies better promotes
regulatory coherence and market stability, and it urges legislators and regulators to
develop a unified framework for this new class of digital assets.
