handle is hein.journals/dephcl27 and id is 1 raw text is: DePaul Journal of Health Care Law Death Wish: A Comprehensive Analysis of Physician Assisted Suicide Janna George At just 29 years old, I received news that would change my life forever - a terminal brain cancer diagnosis.1 Newly married and eager to start a family, this stopped me in my tracks.2 Our lives quickly began to revolve around hospital visits, consultations, and research.3 Just over a week following my diagnosis, I underwent a partial craniotomy and partial resection of my temporal lobe- both in an effort to stop the growth of my tumor.4 It wasn't long until we discovered that I was not responding to treatment, and I had been given a prognosis of six months to live.5 Although I could still try chemotherapy, I knew it would have devastating effects on my body - the hair on my scalp would be singed off, and I would be left with first-degree burns.6 After months of searching for other options, my family and I reached the conclusion that there would be no life saving treatment. Any all of the recommended treatments would seriously diminish my quality of life and ruin my time left here.7 I began to weigh into the options of how I would like to pass on, but considering that I am still relatively young and healthy, I knew that I would suffer in hospice for far too long.'
