Although the title referred to professional baseball, it could just as well apply to Joel Milner's fine efforts as an editor of special issues for this journal. The March 1991 and March 1992 issues of Criminal Justice and Behavior were special issues guest-edited by Dr. Milner on the topics of physical child abuse and sexual child abuse, respectively. With the current special issue on child neglect, he completes an outstanding trilogy on child maltreatment. In addition to Dr. Milner's introductory overview, the issue contains five excellent articles, en- compassing the definition, conceptualization, effects, treatment, and prevention of neglect. Whether it is meteorologically possible for lightning to strike three times in the same place is a question for others to address. With regard to Dr. Milner and his contributors, the answer is a resounding affirma- tive. To them, as well as to Allen Hess, for whose distinguished editorship this special issue is a fitting capstone, we express our appreciation. -David S.
