Again, this issue includes exciting articles on important themes. In his article, Willem Boom provides a fascinating account of the different his- torical narratives of litigation insurance and claim investment. Boom explains how and why liability insurance turned from a phenomenon, which for centuries was far from morally accepted, into an everyday legal institution. Relying on materials from both common and continental law, the author compares litigation insurance with claim investment, also frowned upon for centuries, and asks why still today 'a dismissive narrative continues to dog' the latter. David Huang and Nigel Li, in turn, examine Japan's Meiji Reformation and its constitutional reform, which Imperial China aimed to transplant but failed. Using a comparative approach, the authors explore why 'China floundered whilst Japan succeeded. Huang and Li conclude that the social and political differences between China and Japan go a long way in explaining the failed transplantation process. As usually, the issue contains an interesting section of stimulating book reviews on a wide variety of subjects. In addition, we would like to take the opportunity of welcoming Agustin Parise (Maastricht University) as the new Editor and Jaqueline Bemmer (Univer- sity of Vienna) as the new Articles Editor of the Journal. Congratulations to you both! For the great work done, we also thank the continuing staff, consisting of Marianne Vasara-Aaltonen (University of Helsinki), Emanuel van Dongen (Utrecht University), and Emilia Mataix Ferrhndiz (University of Helsinki). We are convinced that the Journal will continue flourishing in your capable hands.
