Mr. Livsey gave a brief overview of the operations of GPO, discussed the sales program and elaborated on recent changes and innovations. There are 1335 depository libraries (including 80 law libraries) in the United States. By law none of them may keen a citizen, from using documents. Arrangements can be made to guide patrons to specific areas of the library if necessary, but no one may be turned away simply because an institution is private or very specialized. Mr. Livsey then discussed the Sales Program for non-depository institutions. Bibliographic access to approximately 3000 new titles per year is maintained through various subject bibliographies, the Consumer's Guide to Federal Pub- lications, The Selected List of Government Publications, and the bookstores themselves.
