handle is hein.journals/ausnewma20 and id is 1 raw text is: EDITORIAL This is the first edition of Australian & New Zealand Maritime Law Journal - previously known as the MLAANZ Journal. Not only has there been a change of name; the journal is now offered as a wholly online journal. Despite the change of name, the journal's aims remain unchanged; namely to improve the reporting and debate on maritime matters in the Australasian region.' The project of conversion from paper to online could not have been achieved without significant effort on the part of many. First of all my sincere thanks to the editorial board, particularly Dr Sarah Derrington, Dr Paul Myburgh and Dr Michael Underdown for their expert and willing assistance. Of course, without the support of the MLAANZ Executive, and Frazer Hunt in particular, this endeavour would not have been possible. Likewise, the support of Murdoch University School of Law Dean, Professor Gabriel Moens, has been greatly appreciated. Essential to the online endeavour has been the expert assistance of our IT consultant, Mr OS Goh. Finally, to my student editors, Megan Ashford, Troy Nixon and Kylie Weir, my grateful thanks for your patience and unerring dedication to the task. As well as offering new issues online, the journal website also offers electronic and searchable versions of all back issues of the MLAANZ Journal.' My thanks to those who hunted down and scanned copies of old issues: Paul Myburgh, Andrew Tulloch and Ron Salter. I trust that this issue of the new journal, and those to come, will continue the tradition established by the MLAANZ Journal to explore, inform and educate on all matters maritime.
