Antitrust lawsuit against Valve

  n April of 2021, Wolfire Games, the developer of the action
  video game Overgrowth, filed an antitrust lawsuit against
Valve Corporation, the owner of Steam, a digital distribution
platform. A few months later, in November 2021, the court
awarded Valve Corp the win, by dismissing the action, but
permitting Wolfire to file an amended complaint within 30
days of the order.
  The decision brings some light into the how courts might
apply antitrust laws to the gaming space, as the industry grows.
FACTS
This case involved an antitrust Consolidated Amended Class
Action Complaint (CAC) from Wolfire Games, LLC, a desk-
top computer game publisher[1], against Valve Corporation,

Antitrust Exemption

     federal district court granted a motion to dismiss filed by
       ajor League Baseball (MLB) on the basis of its storied
antitrust immunity. Coming almost on the eve of the World
Series, this decision, which is now under appeal, will surely
keep the MLB's antitrust exemption, unique for a sports league,
front and center as Congress investigates its effects and considers
legislation to eliminate it.
   In a decision from Southern District of New York Judge
Andrew  Carter, the court noted it was constrained to apply
U.S. Supreme Court and Second Circuit precedent creating and
refining professional baseball's exemption from U.S. competition
laws. The case, Nostalgic Partners, LLC et al. v. The Office of

the owner of Steam Games, the desktop gaming platform
(Steam Platform) and the desktop gaming store (Steam
Store). Wolfire Games claimed that Valve Corp. created a
monopoly that forced desktop game publishers to sell their
