INTRODUCTION: CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND This is a second special issue (SI) containing articles produced under the auspices of the Inter- national Association of Constitutional Law (IACL) Research Group on identity, race, and ethnicity in constitutional law, as well as a five-year Hungarian Research Fund Grant on legal approaches to operationalizing nationality and ethnicity.1 The overall inquiry is inspired by the lack of legal certainty and the inadequacy of definitions that characterize the legal * Corresponding author.
