Happy New Year and welcome to Issue 1, Volume 45 of the American Journal of
Criminal Justice! This issue features a range of topics I trust will prove of interest and
scholarly value to the readership. As we continue to build upon our still fairly new and
higher 2018 Thomson Reuters Impact Factor and maintain an acceptance rate of about
20 %, AJCJ is synergized and upwardly focused more than ever before. We have a
strong backlog of quality forthcoming articles as well as slated thematic issues on
biosocial criminology and another on victimology with additional guest issues in the
works. We will be exhibiting the journal at CCJ national and regional association
conferences as well as practitioner meetings per the translational significance of much
of our published work for professional stakeholders. We continue to receive much
appreciated strong support from SCJA, Springer, and UNF College of Arts & Sciences
Dean George Rainbolt. If you see our AJCJexhibit booth at the next conference, please
stop by and share your manuscript ideas with either me or one of the Associate Editors.
Best wishes for a prosperous and prolific 2020!

J. Mitchell Miller, Ph.D.
Editor-in-Chief.
