Feingold United States Senate Subject: Department of Defense-Retired Military Officers as Media Analysts Section 1056 of the Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009 directs the Comptroller General to issue a legal opinion to Congress on whether the Department of Defense violated appropriations prohibitions on publicity or propaganda activities by offering special access to prominent persons in the private sector who serve as media analysts.
