handle is hein.congrec/cborct0001 and id is 1 raw text is: Congressional Budget Office Nonpartisa Analysisfor U )S Congress CBO's Recent Publications and Work in Progress as of December 31 2025 To provide Congress with a comprehensive review of its work, the Congressional Budget Office publishes quarterly reports that highlight the agency's recent publications and summarize its work in progress.' Over the past three months, CBO has produced a variety of budget and economic analyses, fulfilling the agency's mission of supporting Congress during each stage of the legislative process. The agency's work takes many forms, including technical assistance to committees and Members when they are crafting legislation, cost estimates of legislation, testimonies, reports, and other analytical products. A Brief Look at 2025 In calendar year 2025, CBO fulfilled thousands of Congressional requests for technical assistance, published 779 cost estimates, and released 102 reports, working papers, and other analytical products. For instance, CBO provided technical assistance, estimates, and other analyses at every stage of the legislative process for the 2025 reconciliation act (Public Law 119-21), the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026 (P.L. 119-37), and the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (P.L. 119-60). In addition, CBO released its annual report on the budget and economic outlook in January. The agency updated its annual long-term budget projections in March and provided projections under alternative scenarios for the economy and the budget in May. CBO's baseline budget and economic projections serve as a benchmark for many of the agency's analytical reports, working papers, and other published documents. Last year, CBO's publications examined a variety of topics, including the U.S. military's force structure, emissions of greenhouse gases from agriculture, the relationship between fiscal policy changes and near-term real GDP growth, the budgetary effects of tariffs, and growth in the 340B Drug Pricing Program. CBO aimed to promote a thorough understanding of those topics by clearly presenting its analyses and explaining the basis for them. All of those efforts were undertaken with the goal of providing information when it was most useful to Congress. 1.
