It is altogether the most comprehensive, intelligent and broadminded treatment of the subject which I have as yet read. It is to me intensely interesting and instructive, and I believe is a complete vindication of the application of this art to the detection of crime and the enlightenment of courts in dealing out punishment to convicted defendants.
