John0. Callahan who died at his home in Rawlins, Janu- ary 16, 1977. Judge Callahan was born March8, 1922 in Powell and received his law de gree from UW in 1950. He practiced law in Basin and served as county nd pros- ecuting attorney of Big Horn County from 1957 to 1963. He served in the State Senate in 1%4 and 1966, serving as Chief Clerk of the Senate in 1%5 In 1%5 Judge Callahan and his family moved to Torrington where he entered law practice with Bob Sigler. In 1971 then Governor Stan Hatahway named him to the Public Service Commission where he later became Chairman. In late 1974, Hathaway named him to the Second Judicial District bench. The Bar mourns the passing of a good friend and colleague. '77 Bar Convention Set for Cheyenne, The 1977 State Bar Convention will be held in Cheyenne at the Hitching Post on September 15 and 16. Present plans call for a CLE program to be held in conjunction with the convention, the subject matter and speakers will be an- nounced at a later date. During the course of the convention the new law school at the University of Wyoming will be dedicated. Speaker for the occa- sion will be the Honorable Byron R. White, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Further details will be announced in a later edition of the Wyoming Lawyer. Honotable Robert A. He received his BA from UW in 1949, MA Degree from the University of Nebraska in 1%2 and was graduated from University of Wyo- ming, College of Law in 155. He was in the armed services from 1944 to 1946 and 1%0-1951. Judge Hill practiced lw in Buffalo with his father, the late Burton S. Hill from 1955 to 1%4 and was later a part- ner in the firm of Kirven and Hill from 1%S4 to 976. He served as a Staffattor- ney for the Wyoming State Senate dur ing the 43rd Legislative Session. Judge Hill is married to the former Patricia Ann Hintz and they have two children.
