Storev, President of the American Bar Association, will address the Quarterly Meeting of the Cincinnati Bar Association on Friday, October 31 at the Cincinnati Club. The new President of the American Bar Association is well qualified for this impor- tant post. He is a senior partner in the Dallas, Texas, law firm of Storey, Arm- strong, and Stagger and is Dean of the Southern Methodist University Law School. He has been active in Bar Association work, since he joined the American Bar Association in 1928 and has served upon various com- mittees, the local and state bar association and of the American Bar Association. He was President of the Dallas Bar Association in 1934 and of the State Bar of Texas in 1948-49. Mr. Storey is familiar with the problems of the local lawyers, as well as the broad field of interest of the lawyers, gener- ally. Cincinnati Bar Association Publishes First Issue of Journal With publication of this edition, the Cincinnati Bar Association commences monthly publication of the JOURNAL of The Cincinnati Bar Association, which will appear on the 15th of each month. The JOURNAL wili attempt to acquaint lawyers with matters of interest to them, with forthcoming programs of the Cincinnati Bar Association and with activities of the various committees. Current decisions of the Court of Appeals of Hamilton County, Ohio, and such opin- ions of the Prosecuting Attorney of Hamilton County, Ohio, as might be of general inter- est to lawyers, will also be published. Publication of the JOURNAL will be handled by the Committee on Legal Publica- tions of the Cincinnati Bar Association composed of: Carl B. Rubin, Chairman, James R. Clark, Jr., Vice-Chairman, Lloyd IL Miller, Secretary, Carl L. Meier, A. J. Allen, Jr., Paul C. Beckman, Robert A. Mace and George L. Buttafoco. Court House Offices Will Move Into Addition In September BAR -VOTES ON QUESTION OF CALLING CONVENTION A poll of members of the Cincinnati Bar Association as to the necessity of calling a Constitutional Convention will be conducted by a ballot included in this month's JOUR- NAL. Persons desiring to vote on this matter are requested to indicate their choice on the en- closed insert and mail it to the Executive Office of the Cincinnati Bar Association. Ballots must be received by October 1, 1952, to be counted. Committee Favors Convention The problem was first considered in 1951, when a committee composed of Burton E. Robinson, Chairman, Ralph E. Clark, Sr., Robert N. Gorman, George H. Palmer, Benja- min S. Schwartz, and George W. Weber, Jr., reported to the Executive Committee of the Bar Association as follows: Your Committee has carefully weighed the arguments for and gain the calling of a Constitutional Con- vention and believes that the arguments for greatly out-weigh those against and conse- quently recommends that a Constitutional Convention be called. Poll Approved in June A motion to poll the members of the Cin- cinnati Bar Association was passed at a special meeting on June 13, 1952. A written report of the pros and cons of the issue had been distributed to members prior to this special meeting. In connection with this poll, Chairman Robinson commented, The public is looking to the organized Bar for guidance in this most important matter, and we urge each and every member of the Association to register his vote after weighing the pros and cons. We know you will not be swayed by slogans, but will give this matter your most serious coasideration and vote in accordanue- therewith. Hamilton County Court House offices will begin moving into the new addition at the end of September and continuing through the month of October, the Board of County Commissioners has announced. The Court House addition has been under construction since March, 1951. The first floor of the addition will be occupied by the Auto Certificate of Title Department and by the Auto License De- partment of the Hamilton County Auditor. Additional area will be provided for the Auditor's office and for the Court Index. The second floor will be occupied by the County Engineer, the County Commissioners and the County Purchasing Department. The third floor will be occupied by depart- ments of the Clerk of Courts, the Assignment Commissioner and the Hamilton County Sheriff. On the fourth floor will be the entire department of Domestic Relations, including the Court Room and offices of the staff of the Department of Domestic Relations. The fifth floor will be occupied by depart- ments of the Probate Court Common Pleas Continued on Page 2 PROSECUTING ATTY HOVER GRAND JURY TO APPEAR ON BAR TELEVISION SHOW The first in a series of eight television programs will be broadcast over WCPO-TV in the very near future. This will be a joint project of the Cincinnati Post and the Cin- cinnati Bar Association to encourage voting in the November election. Members of the Bar will take part in this series as lawyers and judges and in the case of the first program, as members of the Grand Jury.
