Tirs Is To CERTIFY that we, whose names are hereunder subscribed, citizens of the United States, a majority of whom are citizens of the District of Columbia, have associated our- selves together, pursuant to provisions of Chapter XVIII, Sub- chapter III, of the Code of Law for the District of Columbia, approved March 3, igoi, and Acts of Congress amendatory thereto, inder the corporate name of THE AMERICAN LAW INSTITUTE. The term for which the Society is organized is perpetual. The particular business and objects of the society are edu- cational, and are to promote the clarification and simplification of the law and its better adaptation to social needs, to secure the bettet administration of justice, and to encourage and carry on scholarly and scientific legal work.
