       As  ( hairman of the 'ection of (General Practice, I
    utilize this first issue  of I.t'  A4 t (all  under mx  adminis-
    tration to express to you m% thanks for wour confidence
    in me b   entrusting to me the guidninc e of the (eneral
    Practice Sec tion for [l,-*).
                                   This Section has  grown
                               from one of the youngest and
                               smallest to one  of the five
                               largest sections (over 6,000
                               members).   It has  become
                               necessary to re-examine our
                               projects and  to adjust our
                               program to serve a large and
                               more representative group of
                               lawyers in the  fifty states.
      This  issue of I) k#  ( i/l is reall an expanded ve;
   sion of the original public ation.
      Our  interim editor who 1s also our Nction seCtretar%.
   Richard  li. Allen of Memphis, has printed in this issue
   a  number of projects wkhn h wxe have undertaken. From
   these  and from man%  more projets  that we shall adopt
   in the future, you as I. general pr.iritioner  will findi that
